Custom printed mini kegs – Putting the ‘Art’ into ‘Artwork’ 

Custom printed mini kegs add value because they make the transition from ‘just’ packaging to a beautiful gift. You will save money as they cost less than neutral kegs and you will not have the labelling cost. Furthermore there are no origination costs so you can change your designs with every print run.  

Woodfordes Brewery started with some of their brands fully printed but also opted for a generic design. Recently Woodfordes decided to convert from generic mini kegs labelled Nelsons, Conquest and Bure Gold to have them all fully custom printed. 

Renegade Brewery re-designed their mini kegs in 2023 and the new custom printed mini kegs make full use of the 1500cm2 printable area. It’s important to treat the mini keg in a category of its own when it comes to artwork design as no other package offers the visual impact on such a large scale. Renegade used the metal substrate of the keg and incorporated some metallic effects in the designs for greater impact.  

Wye Valley Brewery is successfully marketing their mini kegs as ‘pub quality beer at home’.  Two of their best selling brands are custom printed. HPA is a vibrant blue colour that catches the eye, and ‘Butty Bach’ which is a Welsh term meaning ‘little friend’ – I think this suits the cute 5 litre mini keg! 

Great Corby Brewhouse is situated in an area of natural beauty and with an influx of holidaymakers, custom printed mini kegs make the ideal gift. You can take a taste of Cumbria home with you. The designs stand out on the shelves with bold contrasting colours.
