Sealed to light and air our mini kegs are the perfect package for beer. Unopened, depending on the beer and the filling, mini kegs should have at least 6 weeks shelf life. Brewery conditioned beer can easily achieve 6-9 months shelf-life. Once opened beer should be consumed within a few days taking care to close the vent for storage and when not in use (if on its side in a fridge for example).
Our mini kegs are produced in a hygienic and controlled atmosphere and will arrive ready to fill. For cask beers you can simply remove the dust cap and fill from a line from your tank to overfill. Check weigh before and after. For keg beers you will require a counter pressure filler. There are various fillers available to purchase from ‘hand held’ (approx. 30 kegs per hour – see below) to ‘twin head semi-automatic’ to ‘fully automated’ (300+ kegs per hour). If you are looking to supply to the multiple retailers but not wishing to fill mini kegs yourself, we are best placed to recommend contract filling. Jayne & Terry from European Malt Company have a wealth of knowledge having supplied this package in the UK and Ireland for over twenty years. In the supermarkets the Huber mini keg remains the trusted choice. Please contact us for more information.
